Pete the Beat

Created by Christine 3 years ago

Pete the Beat, as he was affectionately known on Anchorage Park, was a friend for more than 50 years. He was popular with both his fellow police officers and the public.  He was a good copper and received two commendations, one for jumping into a river and saving a young boy from drowning. We personally have many happy memories of him, but the that sticks in my mind is when I was driving on my own and managed to crash into a parked vehicle. It was late and dark but Pete was on his beat, came to the scene and took me to hospital. I was traumatised but he calmed me. I could go on - there's so many stories - but suffice it to say Pete was a truly good man and a true friend. We will miss him so much.

Always in our hearts,

Brian and Chris
